Troubleshooting

Fixes for the handful of things that can go sideways — codes, disconnects, out-of-sync screens and locked phones.

“I can’t join the room”

Double-check the code — it’s exactly 4 letters, and easy to mix up an O for a 0 or an I for a 1 if it was shouted across the room. If you’re scanning, make sure the QR code on the Stage isn’t cut off or glared out by a window; typing the code by hand always works as a backup.

”This code doesn’t exist”

Room codes are tied to a live room — once the Stage closes or the room times out, its code stops working. Ask the host to check the Stage is still open and showing a code, or have them start a fresh room and re-share the new one.

”I got disconnected mid-game”

Reopen the join link or re-enter the room code on the same phone within about 90 seconds and you’ll drop right back into your seat — same role, same progress, same round. Once that window closes, you may need to rejoin as a new player, so a flaky connection is the one thing worth fixing before round one.

”The Stage looks frozen or out of sync”

A refresh on the Stage device almost always fixes it — it reconnects to the live room state without losing anything that’s happened so far. If a single phone looks stuck instead, refresh just that phone.

”My phone locked and I missed a prompt”

A locked screen or a phone that dimmed out can mean a missed prompt or vote. Waking the phone and reopening AnimaOS drops you back into the current round — just keep the screen awake (or the phone propped up) during fast-paced games where every second counts.

Still stuck? Head back to the FAQ or start a fresh room — a clean room and a fresh code fix almost everything.
